Materials Much like in a cocoon, material and body enter into a form of symbiosis when lying in a hammock. The fabric softly envelopes the body, providing protection, warming it and at the same time providing it with fresh air. High-quality, sustainably produced materials guarantee the comfort and safety of our products.
Colours The hammock originated in Latin America and it symbolises zest for life and happiness, which is also mirrored in its colours. To make sure that the intense colours will remain that way even if exposed to intense daylight over longer periods of time, Harbourside Hammock trusts dyes of renowned producers like Ciba or Dystar. Harbourside Hammock products are tested regarding lightfastness, fastness to washing and perspiration by independent laboratories and they score highly. This is also the case with our cotton products, which feature a high degree of colourfastness. Wood Hammocks with spreader bars and hammock chairs are characterised by bars on both ends of the lying surface opening them. For our spreader bars we only use wood from sustainable forestry complying with the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) regarding their cultivation. To prevent weathering and providing resistance to weather impacts like rain and wind concerning colour and substance, we treat the wood by means of several refining processes.
